Ashmolean Museum Broadway
The Ashmolean Museum Broadway is an independent community museum working in partnership with the Ashmolean Museum Oxford and Worcester County Council. We are based at Tudor House a 17th Century former Coaching Inn in the Cotswold village of Broadway, Worcestershire.
Since opening in September 2013, the museum and its volunteers have embraced their role of providing the community with the resources to learn more about local history and see the unique collections curated by the famous Ashmolean Museum Oxford. The loaned exhibits include fine and decorative art from the 17th to the 19th centuries over two floors with special relevance to the life and times of the building and surrounding areas. Pieces from the founding collections of the Ashmolean, given by Elias Ashmole to the University of Oxford in 1683 can also be found on display as well as paintings by Gainsborough, Reynolds, Millais and Landseer in the 1st floor galleries. The top floor open to the public is a dedicated gallery for temporary exhibitions, curated by the Ashmolean Oxford and allowing access to current world class exhibits in a historic setting.
